PURPOSE: To rapidly and uniformly melt-sticking the heat shrinkable coating material without necessitating skillfulness by fitting the heat shrinkable coating material to the outer face of a pipe and heating this coating material from the outer face to shrink it and closely sticking it to the outer face of the pipe and thereafter heating the pipe positioned inside the coating material by induction heating and melt-sticking the coating material and the outer face of the pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The heat shrinkable coating material 4 is fitted to the outer face of a pipe 1 having a resin film 2 and heated with a burner from the outside and thermally shrunk. Thereby the coating material A is closely stuck to the outer face of the pipe 1 and the outer face of the film 2. At this time, when heating is performed from the center of the coating material 4 to perform shrinkage from the central part, bubbles are preferably prevented from being trapped between the outer face of the pipe and the coating material 4. After the coating material 4 is closely stuck to the outer face of the pipe 1, an induction heating coil 5 is arranged to the outside of the whole coating material 4 to heat the pipe 1 by induc tion heating. Thereby heat evolution is caused in the pipe 1 itself and the adhesive layer of the innermost layer of the coating material 4 is heated which is brought into contact with the outer face of the pipe 1. The adhesive layer is melt-stuck to the outer face of the pipe 1 and tight adhesion of the coating material 4 and the pipe 1 is secured.
