PURPOSE: To increase the display capacity of the memory card using equipment by composing a system of a display element, a driving circuit, the memory card with the display which is provided with a display memory, and the memory card using equipment.

CONSTITUTION: For a display on a display card, the dot pattern of a character to be displayed is read out of a KANJI (Chinese character) ROM 22 under the control of the CPU 19 of an electronic pocketbook 4 and written in the display memory 13 of the display card 1 through a memory card I/F 23. Then, an LCD driving circuit 14 makes a display corresponding to the dot pattern on an LCD 15. In this case, a program executed by a microcomputer mounted on the memory card using equipment is stored in a readable or writable memory 17 from the memory card I/F 23. In concrete, this program includes a program which writes display data in the display memory 13.
