PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory system capable of providing useful information to a host.SOLUTION: The memory system includes: a non-volatile memory having plural erase blocks and a controller. The controller is configured to provide a piece of first information to a host. The first information represents whether or not an erase block, on which a data associated with a first stream is written and a data which is not associated with the first stream is not written, is used for a garbage collection operation on the non-volatile memory.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
