PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesion between a porous formed body and matrix metal while obviating the necessity of the application of pressurization and preheating and further the addition of highly reactive fluorides and to attain the excellent composing of the both. SOLUTION: In the metal-matrix composite material, the external surface of a porous preform composed of metal/alloy and the internal surface of its pores are coated with a layer of composing-accelerating material composed of noble-metal elements and also the pores of the preform are impregnated with matrix metal/alloy composed of Al or its alloy.
