Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the economics, durability, a purifying performance of waste gas, etc., by constituting so that a metallic honeycomb body at front and back position of three metallic honeycomb bodies is stuck at a abutting part of a component member and an inner peripheral surface of a casing, but the metallic honeycomb body at an intermediate position is not stuck to these.
CONSTITUTION: The metallic honeycomb body H2 at the intermediate position is improved in its durability since thus body is deformable freely between the stuck metallic honeycomb bodies H1 and H3 at their front and back position even if large thermal stress is generated in an inside of the honeycomb body H2 at the intermediate position by a disposing and sticking method of three metallic honeycomb bodies H1-H3 disposed in a metallic casing C. And in the metallic honeycomb body H2 at the intermediate position, since the abutting part of a platelike belt material 1 and corrugated belt plate 2 being a component are not stuck, a catalyst for purifying the waste gas can be deposited up to a vicinity position of each abutting part and purifying performance is improved. This leads to miniaturization of a metallic carrier MS.
