Title:
(METH)ALLYL ALCOHOL WITH CHLORINE ATOM CONTENT OF LESS THAN 50 PPM AND PRODUCTION PROCESS THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001158755
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide (meth)allyl alcohol that scarcely causes the corrosion of the chemical reactor, even when this alcohol is used under a high pressure reaction condition.

The chlorine atom content of this (meth)allyl alcohol is ≤50 ppm according to the oxidative coulometric titration chlorine microanalyzer. In this method of producing (meth)allyl alcohol, (meth)allyl chloride is subjected to the reaction for substituting the chloride in the (meth)allyl chloride with a hydroxy group, the resultant (meth)allyl alcohol is distilled and then, the distilled (meth)allyl alcohol is treated with activated carbon.
