Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a method capable of effectively removing 1,4-dioxane and whose practical use is easy as well.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for acclimatizing active sludge used for the treatment of waste water including 1,4-dioxane. Active sludge is warmed under a water environment freed from organic matter other than 1,4-dioxane and is held over a fixed period to increase the decomposition activity to the 1,4-dioxane in the active sludge. Thereafter,the temperature of the active sludge is reduced to the using temperature of the active sludge.
