Title:
METHOD FOR ADDING MN INTO MOLTEN IRON AND MN AGENT FOR ADDITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03219006
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve Mn yield and to reduce the adding cost in producing Mn by using Mn ore having a specific value or less of contained decomposable oxygen content at the time of adding Mn into molten iron.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of adding Mn into the molten iron, the Mn ore contg. ≤6.3wt.% the oxygen content, which can be decomposed and dissociated from the ore with heating, is used as Mn source. For such Mn ore, MnO2 series Mn ore heated up to ≥560°C is used or the Mn ore containing in one or plural kinds of MnO2, Mn2O3, Mn3O4 and sintered at ≥1000°C, is used. By this method, Mn can be added with high Mn yield and at a low adding cost.
