Abstract:

PURPOSE: To adhere ceramic surfaces by the oxidation reaction product of a stock metal by arranging first and second ceramic bodies in such a manner that their respective adhesive surfaces adjoin and face each other and form an adhesive zone and arranging the stock metal so as to meet this adhesive zone to form an assembly and heating this assembly in gaseous phase oxide.

CONSTITUTION: The ceramic assembly is composed by the following stages (a) to (c): (a) The first ceramic body 10 and the second ceramic body 12 are so arranged that these ceramic bodies adjoin to each other and that the front surface of the first body 10 faces the front surface of the second body 12 to form the adhesive zone between both. (b) The body 14 of the (b) is arranged by directing the same in a correct direction with respect to the adhesive zone in such a manner that the oxidation reaction product obtd. from the stock metal in the stage (c) is formed in the adhesive zone. (c) The synthesized assembly of the two ceramic bodies 10, 12 described above and the body 14 of the stock metal is heated in a temp. region higher than the m.p. of the stock metal and lower than the m.p. of the oxidation reaction product in the presence of the gaseous phase oxide (e.g.; air).
