Abstract:
PURPOSE:To surely and rapidly adjust the concn. of Al and to improve productivity by providing an enclosing part to the surface part of a plating bath and adding an Al removing agent into this section, then stirring the bath. CONSTITUTION:The enclosing part 4 consisting of a frame body 3 is provided to the surface part of the zinc plating bath 2 of a device for guiding a steel strip 1 to the plating bath 2 and plating the steel strip continuously. The Al removing agent 6 is added from a manhole 5 to the bath 2 in this section and the bath 2 is stirred by an impeller 2 to diffuse the agent into the bath 2, thereby bringing the agent into reaction with the Al in the bath and removing the Al. The fumes generated at this time are sucked by a suction blower 8 and are introduced into a cleaning device 9 where the fumes are neutralized to the pollution-free fumes. These fumes are released into the atm. The removal of the Al is continued by adding the Al removing agent to the bath until the target concn. of the Al is attained and the low Al bath is obtd. The concn. is adjusted by adding the Al to the bath 2 in the case of preparing the high Al bath. The downtime for the purpose of adjusting the bath is averted by this method.
