Abstract:
To provide a method of the alkyl esterification of organic acids which can sufficiently alkyl-esterify the entire organic acids present in a lipid at a mild temperature and a kit.
The method of the alkyl-esterification of organic acids comprises a first step of reacting a lipid in a sample with a 1-4C lower alcohol and a 1-4C alkoxide to alkyl-esterify the organic acids present in the lipid and a second step of reacting the reaction mixture of the first step with a 1-4C lower alcohol in the presence of boron trifluoride to alkyl-esterify free organic acids. The kit for the alkyl-esterification of organic acids is provided with a 1-4C lower alcohol, a 1-4C alkoxide, and boron trifluoride.
