PURPOSE: To achieve an eyeground image analysis method and an eyeground image analyzer by extracting a blood vessel from an image of the eyeground to generate a diagnosis reference with numerical conversion of a serpentine condition.

CONSTITUTION: An image analysis method of the eyeground and an image analysis apparatus thereof for implementing the title method comprises an extraction process (A) of arterial and venous blood vessels from an image of the eyeground, a process (B) in which a plotting is performed between three points at regular intervals on a blood vessel extracted within a fixed linar distance to measure an angle formed by straight lines connecting the three points at a midpoint, a process (C) in which the angle data obtained undergoes a numerical conversion according to a numerical conversion program prepared and a process (D) for generating a diagnosis reference by the resulting numeral.
