PURPOSE: To improve a melting speed by executing the stirring in a melting tank at two points; the central part of the tank and the point along the melt taking-out surface in the bottom of the tank and separating and discharging a gel-like material and melt by means of a net, etc., around the melt taking-out outlet in the bottom of the tank.
CONSTITUTION: The stirring device 6 has two kinds of stirring vanes; central stirring vane and lower stirring vanes 8. The central stirring vane 7 is a paddle- shaped vane and the lower stirring vanes 8 are 4 pieces of semi-arc-shaped paddle-type vanes. The gel-like material 2 is given with movement over the entire inside part of the melting tank by the movement of the vane 7. As a result, the heat transfer with the tank wall is accelerated and the melting is vigorously executed; in addition, the flow down of the melt along the tank wall to the bottom of the tank is assisted. The paddles 8 move the gel-like material 2 deposited atop the wire net 9 in the melt taking-out port to accelerate the outflow of the melt and, therefore, the melt flowing down onto the tank bottom flows out of the melt taking-out port to the outside of the tank through the net 9 without stagnating in the tank bottom.
