Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance print processing speed without performing duty control for a motor if the heat storage quantity of the motor being driven in a printing process is sufficiently low, when a next printing process is performed following to a first printing process.
SOLUTION: Every time when a CM 13 is started, a CM side waiting time calculating section 59 reads in heat storage quantity calculation value data from a CM side heat storage quantity calculating section 61 and compares it with a preset threshold of heat storage quantity. When a decision is made that the sum of that data and a heating value possibly generated in the CM 13 through driving of this time exceeds a threshold, a CM drive section 55 is informed so as to prohibit starting of the CM 13 and an operation for determining the time elapsing before starting a next pass, i.e., a waiting time, is performed in order to prevent the heating value of the CM 13 from exceeding the threshold. When the elapse of the waiting time is recognized, the CM drive section 55 is informed so as to release the prohibition. A PFM side waiting time calculating section 67 also performs a similar operation.
