Abstract:
PURPOSE:To judge presence or absence of the buckling of a can or the position deviation of the can, in a specified step in manufacturing canned provisions, by detecting the change in outer surface shape of the can or the change in outer surface position of the can with respect to a reference position. CONSTITUTION:Two displacement sensors 20 are arranged up and down at a specified interval so as to form pair. The four displacement sensors 20 in two pairs are arranged in a zig-zag pattern, and irregularity in outer surface of a can or position deviation of the can is detected. The providing positions of these displacement sensors 20 at the outer surface of a turret 10 are set in a range E from the intermediate point in a first seaming step A to the inter mediate point of a second seaming step B. Namely, buckling is liable to occur most frequently in the range E, and the buckling appears are irregularity on the surface of the can 1. Therefore the buckling can be detected definitely. When the position deviation of the can is detected, it is not necessary that the detection is performed in this range.
