Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LOADING METAL PRINTING PLATE ON VACUUM DRUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3020053
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a plate holding system without using a clamp and depending on magnetic characteristics by sending a plate onto the drum as a flat sheet, and giving the plate a curl while being wound around the plate.
SOLUTION: All of four rollers 4, 5, 6, 7 are extended over the overall length of the cylinder 2. The roller 7 is disposed within the moving passage of the plate 1 delivered from the pinch rollers 5, 6, and is a bending roller for allowing the plate to be bent and curled toward the cylinder 2. The roller 7 can be selected in its position such that the residual curl given to the plate 1 becomes substantially equal to the curvature configuration of the cylinder 2, or the radius of curvature of the residual curl comes to be small than the radius of the cylinder 2. An advantage of selection in the latter is that since the plate grasps the cylinder, it stays as being mounted on the cylinder even in the case where vacuum is released during the rotation of the cylinder.
