To detect the concentration even of a trace substance, e.g. an antibody or an enzyme, by a simple and reproducible method while shortening the sensing time.
An emission sensor 1 has at least one insular layer 2 and the islands 3 thereof are composed of a conductive material. A biological identification layer 4 is arranged on the insular layer 2 or in the vicinity thereof through an intermediate layer 5 and used for a first emission system 9 affixed to a sample 7 or present in the emission sensor 1. The emission system 9 can be coupled selectively with a specimen 8 and the biological identification layer 4 can be affixed to the specimen 8 and the sample 7 or can be coupled indirectly with each of the emission system 9* present in the sensor 1. In this regard, the emission spectrum of at least one of the emission systems 9, 9* exhibits a significant variation in the vicinity of the insular layer 2 and units 13, 14 detect the emission intensity of respective emission systems.
