PURPOSE: To perform bending processing while keeping the original surface smoothness, by preliminarily providing a coating layer composed of a rubbery elastic material having heat resistance to the surface of a thermoplastic resin plate body in a closely contacted state to perform bending processing under heating and subsequently removing the above-mentioned coating layer.
CONSTITUTION: After a coating layer 2 is provided to the outer surface of a thermoplastic resin plate body 1, said plate body is heated in the same way as a general plate body to be bent into a predetermined shape using a jig. After molding processing, the coating layer 2 is removed to obtain, for example, a curved plate body 1'. The surface of the obtained plate body 1' holds the original smoothness but, since the coating layer 2 is provided to said plate body in a closely contacted state, the interface of said coating layer 2 becomes a smooth surface by the transfer of the smooth surface of the thermoplastic resin plate body 1 before molding and, when the whole is subjected to bending processing under heating in this state, the coating layer 2 is also bent in the same way and, now, the interface of the softened plate body becomes the smooth surface of the coating layer 2 due to transfer and the surface smoothness of the plate body is kept even after processing.
