Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily perform the arithmetic processing by obtaining cluster and sector information for each piece of music recorded on a disk from TOC information in the mini-disk device compressing a digital audio signal and recording and reproducing it.
CONSTITUTION: During the reproduction, the relative cluster and sector number is obtained from the head of a piece of music being reproduced, which can be obtained by counting a transfer request to send data stored in a drum 25 through a memory controller 24 to a voice compression encoder/decoder 23. In reproducing a piece of music, the lapse time of the piece of music is obtained based on the relative cluster and the number of sectors from the head of the piece of music through the TOC provided on the most inner peripheral section of the disk and is displayed on a display 9. The remaining time of the piece of music can be found by subtracting the cluster and the number of sectors from the head of the music from the cluster and the number of sectors of each piece of music and converting it to time information.
