Abstract:

To provide a method for casting an internally chilled product where the material to be internally chilled made of an aluminum alloy is subjected to simple treatment so as to improve the adhesion between the material to be internally chilled and the aluminum alloy internally chilling the same.

The cylinder block as an internally chilled product is, with the molten metal of an aluminum alloy as an internal chilling material forming the same, by internally chilling a cylinder liner as the material to be internally chilled, cast into the form where the cylinder liner is internally chilled. Concretely, pretreatment is performed to the cylinder liner by heating and cooling (step S1), the cylinder liner subjected to the pretreatment is set in a mold (step S2), the cylinder liner is internally chilled by the molten metal (step S3), and after the molten metal is solidified, the cylinder block molded so as to internally chill the cylinder liner is discharged from the mold (step S4).
