PURPOSE: To provide a chain bucket cleaning method allowing the chain bucket of a continuous unloader to be cleaned safely and positively in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: In this method of cleaning the chain bucket of a continuous unloader for unloading a bulk cargo in the hold of a ship continuously, two pits 10, 11 that can receive the tip part of the chain bucket 6 are constructed to put water and lump material in one pit 10 and to put the tip part 6A of the chain bucket 6 in the other pit 11, and the chain bucket 6 is driven continuously. The bulk material stuck to the chain bucket 6 is thus scraped, and the water and the lump material in the pit 10, which are scraped by the chain bucket 6, and the scraped bulk material are recovered into the other pit 11.
