PURPOSE: To exactly determine the components in a body fluid sample by an absorptiometry or color development method by adding alcohol to the body fluid sample to settle the proteins dispersed in the sample and to solubilize the fats and removing the formed precipitate.
CONSTITUTION: The alcohol is added to the body fluid sample and the sample is stirred. The formed precipitate is removed by centrifugal sepn., etc. The body fluid sample to be cleared is the body fluid taken from man or animal and is above all serum or plasma. Methanol or ethanol is used as the alcohol and org. acids and inorg. acids such as hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid and acetic acid and bases such as sodium hydroxide are used alone or in combination as the pH control agent. Buffers such as acetic acid buffer, phosphoric acid buffer and SDS buffer are used as well.
