PURPOSE: To provide a cable connecting method, in which a thermal resistance value is not increased and the temperature of a conductor is not elevated in a cable connecting section.

CONSTITUTION: The mutual terminal sections of cables 10a, 10b to be connected are peeled at stages into a conductor 12, a cable external conductive layer 14 and a shielding layer 16, and a sheath is peeled in long size and a sheath removing section 17 is formed at one terminal section. An insulating unit 18 is inserted onto the shielding layer 16 and a conductor 12 is bonded, the insulating unit 18 is displaced onto a conductor connecting section 12a from the upper section of the shielding layer 16, the upper section of the exposed shielding layer 16 is covered with the first peeled sheath 20 (a regenerated sheath), the joint section 26 of the regenerated sheath 20 and the sheath is waterproofed, the upper section of the insulating unit 18 is covered with a cable protective pipe 22, and both end sections of the cable protective pipe 22 are waterproofed.
