PURPOSE: To provide a continuous casting method, by which a solid clad or a hollow cast billet as a base stock for seamless clad steel pipe can be cast at high speed and a long length and the defect, such as the eccentricity of the core material, the seeling of interface is not developed at the time of casting.
CONSTITUTION: Under the condition satisfying the following inequality, while inserting the core material 3 into a both end opening mold 2, molten metal 4 is poured in this circumference, and while continuously solidifying the molten metal 4, the solidified shell 8 is drawn out together with the core material 3. TSM>TM>TBT, wherein, TM: temp. becoming 70% solid phase ratio of molten metal, TBT: brittleness transition temp. of the core material, TM: the max. arrival temp. of the core material with the lapse of time.
