Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a duplex layer steel cast slab having good surface quality without surface flaw caused by alumina claster etc.

CONSTITUTION: In a continuous casting method of the duplex layer steel cast slab, in which a DC magnetic flux in the transverse direction to the thickness of the cast slab is given over the whole width in a continuous casting mold and the static magnetic field zone formed in the casting direction of the mold with this DC magnetic flux is made to be a boundary and two kinds ' of molten steels having different compositions are supplied at the upper and the lower sides, T [0] in the molten steel supplied into the lower side of the static magnetic field zone is made to be ≤80ppm. By this method, the duplex layer steel cast slab having good surface quality without surface flaw caused by alumina claster including the inner layer composition can be obtd., and the quality of the cast slab can be improved.
