To direct the main beam toward a desired wave and to direct the null point to an interference wave without using a reference signal in an array antenna device.
In this array antenna device 100 provided with a oscillator element A0 for receiving a radio signal and non-oscillating elements A1 to A6 respectively connected with a variable reactance element, an adaptive controller 10 sequentially changes the reactance values of respective variable reactance elements, calculates a gradient vector of a prescribed objective function for each of the reactance values and calculates and sets each of the reactance values so as to make the value of the objective function maximum on the basis of the gradient vector. In a quaternary cumulant having four variables, the objective function is operated by calculating a received signal cumulant including two received signals of the same array antenna and a complex conjugate signal of two same received signals as variables, calculating the power of the received signal and calculating the value of a cumulant ratio of the received signal to a square of the power of the calculated received signal.
