Abstract:

To provide the method of driving a solenoid which can prevent the shortage of a power source for driving a linear solenoid and can reduce consumption power by turning an FET on and off taking response delay to a drive signal into consideration.

There is provided the method of driving a solenoid in a circuit for driving the solenoid, in which one end of a linear solenoid 1 is connected to the connection points of two FETs 11 and 12 connected in series with each other between a power source 13 and a ground, the other end of the linear solenoid 1 is connected to the ground via a resistance 15 for detecting current flowing through the linear solenoid 1, and a driving signal is input from a control circuit 14 to the gates of the FETs 11 and 12. When the FET 11 is turned off from on and the FET 12 is turned on from off, the FET 12 is turned on by the change from increase to decrease of both end voltage of the resistance 15 after the off signal of the FET 11 is detected. When the FET 11 is turned off from on and the FET 12 is turned on from off, the FET 11 is turned on by the quick change of both end voltage of the resistance 15 after the off signal of the FET 12 is detected.
