Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the input/output performance of plural logic devices set on an physical device.
SOLUTION: In this method, an array type external storage device 14 is connected through a controller 12 connected to a processor 10. The array type external storage device 14 is provided with plural array groups 141 respectively provided with plural physical devices 142, and plural logical devices 143 are set in the respective array groups 141. In this case, the observed result of reception frequency of an input/output request for each array group/logical device/ physical device is stored in a table provided in a memory 122 for control information inside the controller 12 and by switching the logical devices 143 which belong to the different array groups 141 and have the mutually different reception frequency of input/output requests, the load of the physical device 142 is equalized. The exchange operation can be executed at arbitrary timing according to an instruction from service equipment 13 connected to the controller 12 as well.
