Title:
METHOD FOR DETERMINING OPTIMUM CHARGING AMOUNT OF COAGULANT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3500606
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically judged whether or not a coagulating reaction is in a good state and determined the optimum charging amount of coagulants in a short period of time without requiring labor or experience by installing a device for measuring the strength of transmitted light in the end part of a coagulating reaction pipe and by continuously measuring the change in the strength of the transmitted light.
SOLUTION: An object raw water to be treated 1 is fed by pressure in one coagulating reaction pipe by a pump 3 and the flow rate of the water is controlled by a flow controller 21. A concentrated coagulant solution 10 and a diluting water 11 are connected to a liquid feeding unit 12 and is connected to the coagulating reaction pipe, after being set so as to give a specified concentration range in a specified period of time. A mixer 4 is installed at a position immediately after that of charging coagulants. A device 22 for measuring water quality is connected to a water sampling opening 2. A flow cell 5 and a device 6 for measuring the strength of transmitted light are installed in the end of the pipe. An arithmetic unit 20 is connected to the device 6 for measuring the transmitted light by lead wire, and the change of the amount of transmitted light in time is measured and recorded continuously from before starting point of the coagulating reaction to the finishing point, and each index of coagulation is calculated. Then, the optimum charging amount of coagulants is calculated and determined.
