Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital signal processor for executing a gain instruction.
SOLUTION: At the time of being decoded, the gain instruction controls a multiplexer 43 and selects gain control index signals. The value of the selected gain control index signals is added to a program control register 48 and a program address is generated. The program address is used for selecting one of four gain values specified by the gain instruction. The gain value is accessed by an address indirect register and multiplied with the value specified by the instruction and the result is stored inside an accumulator.
