Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract highly precise image data by reducing the influence of the deficiency of paper sheets and their obliquely advance state in an image data extracting methods for paper sheets using a line sensor.
SOLUTION: Read image data of the width of a line sensor is divided into at least three areas in a direction orthogonal to its carrying direction and the front tip of a paper sheet is detected from the image data (S1 to S4) to decide the left tip edge and the right tip edge of each line of the paper sheet respectively from the shading degree of the paper sheet at divided extreme left and right side areas (S5). Next, the middle points of the left/right tip edges are set to be the central positions of each line of the paper sheet (S6). Then image data of each of plural channels basing on the central position of each line as a reference is blocked by every plural lines basing on the front tip edge line as a reference and extracted (S7 and S8).
