Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method and device by which the name of a device which generates the reflection of the actual physical state of a system constitution can be generated automatically from a computer.
CONSTITUTION: In order to generate the name of a device, an already existing device driver interface is utilized. In this case, the bus-ct1 function of a master device driver is used together with the probe routine and attach routine of a slave device driver. The hierarchical relation between the master device and slave devices is decided by analyzing the device information contained in a hardware constitution file and a class file.
