PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of data transfer between a photographic film strip using step and developing step by repetitively magnetically recording a limited data aggregate along a wide track in the frame of the film trip.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of magnetic read heads 171, 177 and 173 which are arranged in parallel in the lateral direction monitor data on a magnetic track 140 and supply output data signals through channels which are connected in parallel and operate independently. The output data signals are inspected for contents so as to decide whether or not the data of the data signals contain alteration errors. The combined alignment and parallel redundancy of this system tend to secure good data transfer results in spite of the interface between the heads and film which is not always to be complete and the influence of other data alteration.
