Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily machine a plurality of inclined faces having different angles to be formed at both sides in the axial direction of the inner periphery face of a bearing alloy.
SOLUTION: A machining holder 18 has a groove 20 on the inner periphery face extending to the peripheral direction and is formed with the groove 20 stepped at both sides in the cross direction, and a half-split bearing 11 is stored in the machining holder 18. The half-split bearing 11 is thrust at both ends in the peripheral direction by a thrusting member 24, whereupon the half-split bearing 11 is elastically deformed to be fitted into the groove 20 and then deformed in a polygonal line with both sides in the cross direction hitting corners 22, 23 of the stepped portions. In this state, the half-split bearing 11 is machined at both sides in the axial direction along one cylindrical face by a broach 19. Thus, two inclined faces having different angles are continuously formed at both sides in the axial direction of the bearing alloy 13 of the half- split bearing 11.
