PURPOSE: To obtain a non-porous resin impregnated cloth by a method wherein when the cloth which is woven with non-twisted threads and gaps between warps and wefts are impregnated with liquid resin, the composing fibers of the warps and those of the wefts are expanded respectively by grooved rolls and a curved bar and the gaps between them are clogged with impregnated resin.
CONSTITUTION: A cloth to be impregnated 1 is brought into a preimpregnation tank 2 through rolls 5, 6, preimpregnated with liquid resin and then sent to the impregnation tank 3 through a roll 7 on one side being contacted with grooves rolls 9, 10 and a curred bar 11 in order. Composing fibers of the warps of the cloth to be impregnated 1 are extended by the grooved rolls 9, 10 in the direction of the cloth width, then composing fibers of the wefts of the cloth 1 are extended by the curved bar 11 in the direction of the cloth length. Thus, the fibers of the warps and those of the wefts are expanded separately and uniformly and the gaps between the warps and the wefts are clogged uniformly and impregnated with liquid resin through the roller 8.
