PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for measuring the magnetic property without preparing a magnetic element by using a magnetic material and measuring any current and voltage between the terminals of an element.
CONSTITUTION: A high frequency electric power whose frequency is the same as the resonant frequency of a resonant circuit 10 is supplied to the circuit 10 consisting of an air core coil 1, variable capacitor 2 and capacitor 3 through a high frequency power supply 4, and the deviation of resonant frequency generating at the time when a measuring sample 6 is inserted into the coil 6 is measured. At the same time, the temperature rise of a sample holder 7 holding the sample 6 is measured by a thermometer 11 and the heat generation quantity of the sample 6 is also measured, then the high frequency loss of the sample 6 is obtained based on the deviation and heat generation quantity of the measured resonant frequency.
