PURPOSE: To stably hold a tire to be checked to easily measure its rotation by inserting a holding means into an internal space formed between the bead of the tire to be checked and a side wall adjacent thereto.
CONSTITUTION: A checking device 10 comprises two split checking rims 11, the sections of which are axially movable relative to each other. A bead-seating surface 22 is provided on the rim flange 21 of each checking rim 11 and shifted to a rim bed 23. The contour of the bead-seating surface 22 of the checking rim 11 is aligned with the heating form contour 12 of a tire 13 to be checked. A forming ring 16 is provided so that the tire 13 to be checked on the checking rims 11 can be stably held. The forming ring 16 constitutes a holding means inserted into an internal space formed between the bead 14 of the tire 13 to be checked and a side wall adjacent thereto.
