Abstract:
PURPOSE: To accurately detect the position of a target even when a part of the target is overlapped or contrast with a background area is not obtained by detecting the target of a registered feature pattern by separating from another area in a position recognizing method used in a visual recognition device for robot.
CONSTITUTION: This device is constituted of a visual sensor 12 which image- picks up the target desired to perform position recognition, image memory 13 to store image-picked up image data and a feature pattern collating part 15 which detects the position on the image memory 13 registered on boundary feature pattern memory 14 and extremely coincides with a boundary feature pattern from the image data.
