Abstract:

To provide a similar object retrieving method capable of automatically adjusting the weighting coefficient of featured values, and efficiently retrieving a target object.

In objects (4) selected by an operator, the inter-object distribution of each of a plurality of featured values is obtained, and in objects within a retrieval range, the inter-object distribution of those respective featured values is obtained, and both the distributions are compared by respective featured values, and the weighting coefficient of featured values (5) whose distribution is more concentrated in the selected object is made heavier than the other featured values based on the compared result, and those respective featured values are weighted (7), and the objects are retrieved from the retrieval range based on the weighted featured values (9).
