To provide a method and a device for sound recording which make it possible to concentrate on the driving of a vehicle without being affected by received speech information nor a telephone sound by using a communication module capable of receiving various information in voice and telephone calling.

This sound recording method uses the on-vehicle communication module having a communication part which performs transmission and reception, an external interface which sends and receives data to and from external equipment, and a memory which stores received speech data or an incoming telephone signal; and the received speech data or incoming telephone signal can be stored in the memory according to the travel state of the vehicle and at arbitrary time except the driving time of the vehicle, the speech data or telephone signal stored in the memory can be listened to as speech information or telephone sound.
