PURPOSE: To uniformly fill a material into a low height main die in a short time by filling a brake lining powder material in an intermediate die, extruding a material with an extrusion ram and descending the extrusion ram synchronously with a press ram down to a main die.

CONSTITUTION: In a press machine, which has a press ram 5 actuated by a press cylinder 1 arranged with a press piston 10, a main die 6, is loaded by a counter press cylinder 9 arranged with a counter press piston 10 and has a counter hydraulic plate drawable, the counter press cylinder 9 is positioned above the main die 6, an actuation device 15 of the extrusion ram 11 is positioned above the counter press cylinder 9, the extrusion ram 11 arranged under the counter pressing piston 10 descendable is connected to the actuation device 15. After a friction lining powder is filled in an intermediate die 22 and compressed, an intermediate layer powder fills the intermediate die 22. Successively, while descending the press ram 5, the material is pressed by the extrusion ram 11, the extrusion ram 11 is descended synchronously with a press ram 11 until the material in the intermediate die 22 reaches a main die 6.
