Title:
METHOD FOR FITTING PRINTING PLATE TO PLATE CYLINDER AND FITTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000103036
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To enable a lithographic printing plate to be fixed easily with a simple structure by forming the lithographic printing plate in such a manner that it is shaped like a sleeve and a leg part is provided on the forward and backward edge parts, and fitting the leg parts into slots on the plate cylinder, when a printing plate for offset printing is mounted on the cantilever plate cylinder of a rotary press.

A printing plate 1 has leg parts 2, 3 formed by bending the forward and backward edge parts of the printing plate 1 at right angles. These leg parts 2, 3 are joined to each other by pressure-welding the leg parts 2, 3 through electric resistance in such a state that the leg parts 2, 3 are brought into contact with each other. In this pressure-welding process, although it is desirable to have a continuous weld part 4 formed by electric seam welding, it is preferable that both leg parts 2, 3 are joined together using the counter-faces of the leg parts 2, 3 across their entire length, when it comes to the printing plate 1 with the leg parts 2, 3 formed by obliquely bending the forward and backward edge parts. The printing plate 1 formed as described is fixed by fitting the leg parts 2, 3 of the forward and backward edges into a cylinder groove which is extensively present in the axial direction of a plate cylinder.
