Title:
METHOD FOR FIXING CHROMATED COPPER ARSENATE IN WOOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0286403
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To store a wood by fixing with a chromate copper arsenate by a method wherein this wood is treated with a fixing agent represented by specified general formulae after the wood is treated with a solution of a chromated copper arsenate under pressure.

CONSTITUTION: A wood is treated with a solution of a chromated copper arsenate under pressure. Then, the wood is treated with a fixing agent represented by formulae I, II, III and IV, in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a phenyl group or a 1-4C alkyl group, R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group, R3 represents (R4)2(HO)C- or R4OOC- under the condition that R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group, so as to fix the chromated copper arsenate to the wood. The preferable concentration of the chromated copper arsenate water solution is 0.5-4.0 wt.%. The fixing agent is preferably infiltrated in the wood in the form of a water solution having a preferable concentration of 0.5-4.0 wt.%.
