PURPOSE: To obtain an ornamental article of copper, silver, or gold-base metal having an appreciatory flat shape in a method for forming a titled metal in which vegetables are used by combining and using specifically hard and soft vegetables in a natural state having a prescribed degree of drying.
CONSTITUTION: Bamboo branches and cogongrasses with their bases and ear tips positioned flush with each other are put into a drying furnace and are dried to about 20W40% moisture. On the other hand, corrugated board 2 of the same size is superposed on the surface of a wooden plate 1 by placing the corrugated holes at a right angle to the longitudinal direction of the plate 1 and one end of the paper 2 is fixed by nailing a press plate 3 thereto. A suitable number of said bamboo branches 5 are inserted into the corrugated holes and many bamboo branches 6 with the bases thereof positioned flush with the end of the plate 3 are stacked on the paper 2 so as to build up at the center in the direction at a right angle to the corrugated holes, thereby forming a core. The surface thereof are covered with said cogongrasses 7 and the paper 2 and the plate 1 are tied and fixed by cords 8. The ear tips are tied stronger and coiled paper 9 is fixed on said side. Such bundle is inserted perpendicularly into a cylinder 11 on the bottom of which sand 12 is laid, by bringing downward the paper 9 side, then sand 12 is packed around the bundle to expose the bundle except the upper part thereof which is slightly exposed from the sand. Molten copper 14 is then cast into the bundle from the top end by a ladle 13, and a product is obtd.
