To provide a method for forming a photosensitive film on a plate making roll by which a developable film with strong adhesiveness can be applied on the surface of a plate making roll without burning, the residual concentration of a solvent can be easily decreased in a short time, and development with favorable exposure sensitivity and a sharp pattern edge can be performed.
A photosensitive agent is applied on the plate making roll while preventing dropping of the liquid and is set to form a photosensitive film with the solvent vaporized into such a state that the liquid does not drop even when the roll is moved from the application state. Then the roll is rotated at a prescribed high rotation speed for a required time to rub with air so as to diffuse and release the residual solvent in the photosensitive film into air. Thus, the obtained film has low concentration of the residual solvent, which results in the image exposure properties presented by laser light.
