Title:
METHOD OF HULL ENGINE ROOM EXTENSION WORK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61166785
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent a pump housing from being bisected as well as to make an engine room extendible without prolonging a term of works, by cutting the hull at a cutting-plane line along a side edge of a stepped transverse bulkhead, in case of engine room extension work. CONSTITUTION:In case of engine room extension work, the hull is bisected into a front hull 4a and a rear hull 4b so as to cause a transverse bulkhead 7 to be left behind at the side of a pump housing 2 by a cutting-plane line C along a side edge of the stepped transverse bulkhead 7. And, a turbine engine 5 is removed from an engine room 1 and a Diesel engine is set up in this engine room 1 instead and, after replacement work for a main engine is over, an engine room intention hull part 3 is inserted in between the front hull 4a and the rear hull 4b and both are joined together. With this constitution, since extension work for the engine room is performable without cutting the pump housing 2, it can be done at a substantially less cost.
