Abstract:
PURPOSE:To avoid the illegal use of a terminal equipment by using the password used in a log ON mode to specify the user of the terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:A terminal controller 2 checks periodically whether a terminal equipment 3 has communication with a host computer 1 or not after the equipment 3 is logged on. Then the transfer of character strings carries out between the equipment 3 and the computer 1. Then the input of a password is requested to a terminal equipment A3 when the time during which the transfer of character strings is not carried out exceeds the prescribed value. While an inquiry means 4 compares the password supplied from the equipment A3 with the password of the equipment A3 recorded to a password memory part 5. When no coincidence is obtained between both passwords, the illegal use of the equipment A3 is decided. Then the application of the equipment A3 is inhibited.
