To provide a method of providing a searching index for moving images, capable of efficiently and accurately providing a searching index capable of accurately searching each of a plurality of moving images constituting a moving image to each of the plurality of divided moving images, and to provide an apparatus and a program thereof.
A character string for the searching index is selected from text sentences displayed on a client terminal and inverted by a mouse operation. And at the same time, a desired one from among a plurality of divided moving images 1, 2, 3 to N displayed in a manner of thumbnail image on the client terminal is grabbed by depressing the mouse, the grabbed image is moved by moving the mouse to a position immediately above the character string selected by inversion with the moving image grabbed by depressing the mouse, and the moving image is released from the mouse. By doing this, the divided moving image is correlated with the character string, and the correlation between the character string and the divided image is registered in a moving image index database as a searching index for moving image on the basis of the corresponding relation between the character string and divided moving image identification information.
