Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the activity of the surface of a molded article of a polyolefin resin by melt mixing the resin with two specific copolymers and molding the resulting mixture. CONSTITUTION:70-40 pts. polymerizable monomer having a lipophilic group (e.g. stearyl methacrylate) and 30-60 pts. polymerizable monomer having a hydrophilic group (e.g. dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) are suspension polymerized to give a copolymer (A) having an average mol.wt. lower than 50000. Separately, a carboxylated monomer (e.g. acrylic acid) and an olefin (e.g. ethylene) are copolymerized to give a copolymer (B). 100 pts.wt. polyolefin resin is melt mixed with 0.5-5 pts.wt. copolymer A and copolymer B in such an amt. that the molar ratio of the hydrophilic group of copolymer A to the carboxyl group of copolymer B is 0.3-3, and molded.
