Abstract:
Use of a catalyst composition containing a zeolite IM 5 and a hydro-dehydrogenating element produces paraffin-based lubricants with lower pour points and improved viscosity indices, by elimination of linear paraffins. The charge to be treated is contacted with the catalyst at 170-500 degrees C, 1-250 bar and a VVH of 0.05-100 h<-1> in the presence of hydrogen at 50-2000 l/l of charge.
